The Power of Intersections

Think quick:  What does a leading car company and an eco-conscious shoe company have in common?  Is there a possible basis for the two to collaborate?

Well, as it turns out the activities of two such companies do intersect, and form the basis of meaningful collaboration.

From the BBC:

Audi has partnered with Toms, the California-based maker of the ever-more-trendy slip-ons, to produce an exclusive design in gray canvas stitched with red thread, and sporting Audi's four rings on a discreet tag and in the pattern of the lining. These special-edition soles are available only to those who buy or lease during the Summer of Audi sales event — but those new owners won’t be the only one getting a pair of Toms. As part of the collaboration, 55,000 pairs will be given to children in need. The program is an extension of the shoemaker's One for One program, which has given away more than 10m pairs of shoes to needy recipients in more than 70 countries.
