I am very pleased to announce the launch of The Slingshot Awards - the world's first crowd-sourced awards for social transformation. The awards represent a new approach to drive social advancement, has the involvement of a prominent group of global thought-leaders, and is already generating strong media & corporate partnership interest.
First, our jury of thought-leaders will nominate individuals, organizations and causes that are re-imagining boundaries with the most social impact. Then, the public will get to vote for the final winners and contribute to the prizes via a crowdfunding platform. Part of the funds collected will go to the award winners, but the larger component will be used to fund new initiatives targeting social transformation. This way, we will create and support an active community of future-shapers. And finally, the annual Slingshot Symposiums will be bringing together all the constituents to share experiences and celebrate accomplishments.
