‘The Upside’: Opposites attract

I recently watched and enjoyed the movie 'The Upside' with Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston and Nicole Kidman. Moreover, I was intrigued to note that the movie was a remake of a French film based on a true story. It is a great example of magic that happens when opposing the coming together, with important implications for business as well.

Intersectional innovation is the fusion of components that were traditionally separate, or unrelated or viewed as incompatible. It is one of the most powerful drivers of breakthrough concepts, just think of 'urban farming' or 'wearable technology' or 'medical tourism' to just a few. The real-life story of 'The Upside' provides fun, inspirational example of intersectional innovation through the relationship of two, seemingly highly incompatible people who end up having perfect chemistry.
