Dubai’s appetite for shaping the future

I spent last week in Dubai for a series of meetings and events, all of which attest to the common sense of purpose in the emirate for continuing to re-imagine boundaries.

The trip highlight was the National Achievers Conference, held in Dubai for the first time under the Patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.  I also visited 1776 Dubai, the first branch of the start-up accelerator and incubator network to open outside of the U.S., in partnership with the Dubai Foundation of the Future.  And, I spent an evening at the Capital Club, Dubai’s premier private club with over 1500 members, drawn from the leading businesses in the region. The club has been named by CNN as one of the top 10 business clubs in the world.
